Bargain to London, Sep/Oct... $330, taxes included, from Louisville, Cincinnati or Indianapolis

You might know... bargain hunted for the fall until I gave up and made (way too many) other plans for all of Sep and Oct...

...we rarely get such deals here in the Ohio River valley...

$330, all taxes included, if I understand correctly...

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=596635

Hope some other Fodorite homies can use this.

Best wishes,

Rex

I did a month long search from 9/15-10/15 at ITASoftware.com for SDF-LON and found numerous fares for less than $317.00 including taxes. The fares I checked were all with US Airways.

Fortunately (for my sanity) those fares didn't come up for my BA dates...although technically my fare there was $368 or something close ((the added taxes and fuel surcharges blew it up by about 75%)

Try using cheaptickets.com or farecompare.com Carolyn - - after Sep 21, it looks pretty wide open.

Surprisingly, not a peep about this on airfarewatchdog.com

I was just going to buy tickets from Transat in Canada as we can drive to Toronto to fly, but this looks better. Do I understand correctly that this includes fuel surcharges too, and that I just go to cheaptickets.com and try those cities. Sorry if this sounds a bit dumb, but I'm not used to those websites.

Rex, I had to wait to check with my daughter. Am looking this afternoon (Sunday) and can only find $325 plus tax for a fare of $453. That's not too bad but not nearly as good as the $330 you saw. Can you find the smaller fare?

Thanks.

Well, it's definitely there on farecompare.com - - are you looking there? I'm not all that familiar with using that site - - don't know if it's an actual booking site or not. E-mail me if you want a phone number to call me.

Oh... my mistake... the fare that is there now is $325 (before taxes). When I looked the other day, it was $198 before taxes (and therefore $330, _with_ taxes).

I suspect that it's gone.

Rex, Thanks for your info; my daughter and I did book a trip using the higher (but still good) airfare.

The site gave a choice of four bargain sites to book through, including Priceline. I used that, and it offered a further $200 discount if you booked an air/hotel package. It offered quite a number of hotels, by name, to choose from. We went with the Millennium Gloucester since we like that area so much, and it was one of the cheaper offers.

Thanks again for posting the info. I should have jumped on it sooner.

For Hoosiers still looking for October (barely) through December, Continental is jumping back in on a sale, almost as good $245++ IND to LON, BHM or MAN.

Also CVG, but only to MAN.

See farecompare.com
