Bologna without hotel reservations

My husband and I plan on visiting Bologna in October and are now thinking that we may want to stay overnight but want to wait until we get there to decide. Is this wise to do? Will we be able to find a hotel on the same day? Any recommendations for a budget hotel? We'll be arriving from Venice on a Monday possibly staying Monday night.

It shouldn't be a problem to find a hotel for the same day in Bologna in October, unless there is some kind of event or meeting.

Thanks. I looked on the calendar on the website and it doesn't look like there is anything going on.

Hi swalter, I was just going to comment that we could often NOT get a hotel room in Bologna at the last minute due to trade shows..it seems Bologna has a lot of them, LOL.

If you have a calendar of events in Bologna that is a big help. You might want to contact one of the hotels in Bologna just to see if they anticipate having any vacancies when you are there. I am sure you will enjoy Bologna, it is a beautiful city.

OK, I'm very nervous travelling without hotel reservations so maybe I'll try to make them. Just reading about Bologna makes me think we're going to love it which is why we are thinking about spending the night.

I just emailed Bed and Breakfast Accogliente Bologna at via Nazario Sauro n. 26. I got a quote for 85E for a double. Does anyone know anything about this place?
