We have confirmed a reservation for five nights in May at the Hotel Europa for 104 Euros a night, which seems to be a very good rate.

I am curious if we will be pleased with the location of this hotel. I understand it is near the train station (good for day trips) but a fairly long walk to the historic center.

Hey, happy trails - we've got a reservation at the Europa in Bologna for four nights in May- starting May 13th. So I'm eagerly awaiting responses to your question.

That's a great rate. The walk to the center is about 15 minutes (barring any mobility problems) walking on porticoed sidewalks. Plenty of interesting window shopping, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there.

The reason I asked about the walk is that last year we stayed at the Parador in Cadiz, Spain, which was a 15-20 minute walk from the center but the walk was not pleasant in any way. It became a chore.

I have found this walk to be delightful. But you can always hop a bus up or down V. Independenza.

OTC, We will be in Bologna May 6-9. From there we will go to Venice and then into Croatia and Slovenia. Maybe our paths will cross. HTTY
