Best Way To Reach Airport In Rome??

We're booked at the Flower Garden Hotel in Rome. I understand we're located close to the train station, but have no other information. Does anyone know the best/most convenient/most cost efficient way to reach the airport from there? This is our first trip to the area and we are unfamiliar with the options.

If your airport is FCO:

- Take the Leonardo Express train from the Termini to the airport. It departs twice an hour and is about 10 Euros per person.

- You can also take a private car or taxi for about 50 Euros.

The airport train is great--drops you off right at the terminals. Reliable and cheap in my opinion.

Hate to sound ignorant, but is there more than one international airport in Rome?

Hi V,

I've read some of your threads. I strongly suggest you read some travel books and click on the "destinations" heading on the top of this page. I think a lot of your questions can be answered by some simple work, and it'll give you a better understanding of your desired locations.

Take the shuttle van to the Airport. Call: 06.420.134.69 (they speak English) and place your request for a pick up. It is a lot cheaper than a regular taxi:
26 euros for one person, 6 euros for any other person from the same address.

kind of an odd observation but it seems you purposely didn't thank the person who gave you the most valuable advice of all -- barbmike?

Didn't find what I needed in the areas I was searching, otherswise I wouldn't have asked......thus, Barbmike was no help. Simple to some, I guess.

Thanks V, just the kind of "intelligent" response I would expect from a Newbie.

If you are on mainstream international carriers, probably you are at the Fiumicino airport, so I agree with the advice to take the Leonardo Express. Just did it a few days ago. Allow plenty of time. The Leonardo Express leaves from the tracks at the very back of the train station and it takes a good 15-20 minutes to walk to it from the front of the station, especially if it is a crowded time of day. Your ticket will be cheaper (10 euro) if you buy it from a regular ticket window and not from the guy who has a booth right at the front of the train.

There are two airports in Rome, Fiumicino Airport and Ciampino Airport. You're probably using FCO as the other one is mainly used by budget airlines like RyanAir.

We used the Leonardo Express and found it convenient, efficient and cheap. The service runs every 30 minutes, between 6.30am and 11.30pm.
If your hotel is located close to Termini, you could use this option.
