No place beats London for the best miniatures for playing Dungeons & Dragons. That's my shooping tip.

pariswat, there's Natan on Avenue Louise (if the OP's wife is looking for high-end Belgian; this is where the Dutch and Belgian Queens buy their frocks) and more shops towards blvd Waterloo. There you have the usual Louis Vuitton, Armani, Gucci etc.
Rue Neuve is more 'high street'; Zara, H&M etc.

nochblad,

Above all Apple products, which are so much cheaper in the US than what I can find in Italy. But also some performance clothing items like Patagonia which I've not found have an Italian equivalent for durability. There are Patagonia stores in Italy but again, prices are higher than what I pay for the same items in the US.

Thanks All for all the replies...Really appreciate you guys taking time for this.

To be more specific my wife likes bargain shopping..Brands are secondary, she wants something unique as always and that can be in anything like dresses, artificial jewellery, purses etc.

Any suggestions please?

Florence has one of my favorite shops for buying presents for myself and lady friends:
the Profuma de Santa Maria Novella.

It was the first pharmacy in all of Europe.

My all-time favorite perfume comes from there. And I always have a bowl of their potpourri in my living room. The products are made with herbs and plants of Italy. They have products for men, too. Prices range from modest to mama mia!

The shop is just a few blocks from the Duomo.

Your wife will love the shop and products!
The shop is very old and beautiful. If you do a Google images search using the below words you will see photos.

Funny i personlly do not like shopping on holiday( is the altenative really "sitting around drinking") but perhaps thats partly because i dont seem to be able to find many bargains .
Here at home we have more outlet shops, second hand shops and consignment shops, where shopping for bargains is fun and you can scoop some nice quality stuff cheap...however my limited experiences shopping in places like Paris,,,is the cheap stuff is not great quality, and certainly nothing really French about it, as cheap stuff there, like it is in many palces, is made in Asian countries or India etc...

Now one thing i hav noted is that in places like Paris, they have amazing kitchen linens, and kitchen gadgets in general, so while not really cheap, you can find inexpensive gopd quality unique items in some of the homewares/kitchenware shops.

Years ago i did shop in Florence for leather, i got a lovely, unique belt, but it was most definately expensive( to me) .
