The Mansouria at 11 rue Faidherbe in the 11th arrondissement, Metro Faidherbe-Chaligny, is frequently mentioned as the best Moroccan restaurant in Paris. It certainly is good, and so is the couscous there. In a more down-home setting, the couscous brochette (lamb) at the Bar des Artisans, at 40 rue de Montreuil -- same arrondissment, same Metro station -- also is very good, especially with merguez on the side.

Very casual place Au Pied de Chameau. 20, rue Quincampoix (www.aupieddechameau.fr) had great cuisine Marocaine when we visited there last year. Great service and a jeans type place!! (and later in the evening there were belly dancers which was great fun when they pulled my husband up to dance with them)!

Hi just to give you yet some more choice, in the 5th we really like:
Au P'tit Cahoua
39, boulevard Saint-Marcel - Paris 75013
Tél : 01 47 07 24 42
Métro : Les Gobelins
Jeans are fine there I am sure. I also think you could get away with jeans at the 404. The only cous cous place I know in Paris where I might not want to wear jeans is Atlas in the 5th, since they are more of a white tablecloth type of place. Also, last time I was at the 404 (especially on weekends) they had 2 sittings, one at 8PM and 1 at 10PM and most of the time you needed reservations. So just FYI. A couple of cous cous places are like that. Another good choice by Bastille is Le Souk, 1 rue Keller in the 9th. 01 49 29 05 08

Has anyone tried the restaurant called "le Tajine" on rue Sophie Germain, 14th? (Metro Mouton Duvernet)
