We just came back from Paris last week and stayed at Hotel Brittanique
http://www.hotel-britannique.com which for our first trip was a great location, a block from the Seine, walking distance to the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay and Notre Dame and the metro was a block over as well. We paid about $220 a night? The room was very small, but that didn't matter since we barely spent time there. Breakfast was not included, but who cares!...the patisserie was around the corner. I'm now looking into going back with friends in May and reading posts for other suggestions perhaps on the left bank. I just read a post for Hotel Saint Thomas Daquin which was less in price and very cute, about $165 a night.
