Berlin Hotels in Mitte, moderate price
I am looking to stay in Berlin for two nights. My budget is under 100 euros per night. Ideally I would stay in Prenzlauerberg, but the Hotel Myers is booked. I'm thinking of either Park Inn Alexander Plaza (69 euros a night), or Luisenhof (79 euros a night). Thoughts?

Haven't stayed there, but the Park Inn Alexnaderplatz, while I'm sure it's a nice hotel with all the necessary amenities, will most likely have ZERO charm - the area around the Alexanderplatz was completetly destroyed in the war, and what was built there by the Communists is what was considered modern 60's Communist style. In other words, it is completely depressing by other standards. On the other hand the A-Platz is a transportation hub, so there's easy access to Prenzlauer Berg, Mitte, Museum Island, etc.

Oh, btw, why don't you try Priceline? Berlin is a great city for bidding through priceline. Last time I stayed at the 4* Moevenpick for $65 incl. an amazing breakfast buffet. Other people on biddingforttavel.com have also had similar great deals in many of the city's great hotels.
