Bayern means Bavaria, and Bavaria is a state over 1000 years old. Stuttgart is in Württemberg (state of Baden-Württemberg). It is outside of Bavaria, so the Bayern Ticket is not valid there. There however is a special BW ticket at the same conditions AND there is a ticket (Quer-durchs-Land Ticket) that covers both states and will cost you 42€ for one person plus 6€ extra for each additional person. Same restrictions apply. Tax financed as well.

There are several maps of Bavaria and all the other states that show the boundaries.
Those options afaik are available in German language only
Check google with "bahn", "regional", the "state" and "karte".
Bahn.de is a mess!

This is where the Bayern Ticket is valid:

Bamberg, like anywhere in Franconia is really nice! The Franconains are so differnt from the folks down here but the beer is so great and the white wine is beyond belief! And prices are so reasonable too. It's all you can wish for and you're still in Bavaria ;-).
Some of their ancestors moved to France and gave it its name, maybe that's why there's this bit of "savoir-vivre" still alive there.
