Barcelona for 1 Week
My husband and I are planning our first trip to Barcelona for the end of May for 8 days / 7 nights. We are trying to decide which country / cities that we could visit within our timeframe. Any and all suggestions are welcomed.

Barcelona is a wonderful, vibrant city with so many sights to see......architecture, art, boqueria market, shopping, nightlife, food adventures, etc.
With only 8 days and 7 nights I would think remaining in SPAIN the entire time.
You may consider doing a day trip (in Spain) from Barcelona if you feel you don't want to be in Barcelona all 8 days, depending on your interests.

Thank you TrendGirl2. We are definitely interested in a day trip or two. Our interests include seeing the authentic locations, architecture, and my husband wants to get some beach time.

For beach I would recommend Roses. Nice sandy beaches nice swimming. If you take a bus I think it is about 4 hours. I think most of the buses run through Figures which is super interesting with Dali's history there. If you wanted to rent a car, it might be worth it and you could also go as far as Argeles sur Mer on the French side-more nice beaches and pass through Collioure, a pretty port town with nice art connections as well:

I would definitely go to Valencia for a day of- it's about 2 hours ride from Barcelona. Recommend visiting The city of art and science: marvelous 21-century architecture complex (Google and you'll see it)
Also, if you have to check out of the hotel but still have a plantly of time to flight (or another way of transport) there is one service that offers baggage keeping and transportation

IBIZA would be wonderful except IBIZA for 1 day makes no sense at all.
If you are planning a side trip to IBIZA...by the time (and expense) to get to airport, take flight it would take too much time. The ferry rides to IBIZA are not so fast (for a day only visit!!!)
Save IBIZA or other Baleric islands for another trip.
