Barcelona accomodation with view?
Any recommendation for a hotel/apartment in central Barcelona with a nice view of a landmark/historic building, like Sagrada Familia, cathedral, modernist building, Roman ruins? I like my "Room with a View". Under $250/night. TIA

Hotel Regencia Colon is sort of a grand old dame - used to be quite reasonable, a tad faded, but great location, large rooms with views of the cathedral from some. There are several other hotels in that area which is a great part of the city to stay in, IMO. I really like that part of the city - Sagrada Familia is a bit out of the main zone IMO. The Roman Ruins I am aware of are not much - sort of hidden underground. A hotel in the Exiample area would be closer to the modernist buildings - there would be many to choose from.

I had the same requirement, with a lower budget, but here are some I've found. I cannot vouch for them but it's a start! Google "barcelona apartment with view of cathedral" or "apartment with view of Sagrada Familia" Happy hunting!

Much appreciate all the great recommendations. View from Hotel Colon is amazing, exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it's a bit out of my price range, with cathedral view room $300+.
After some lengthy research, I found this apt with amazing straight-on view of Sagrada Familia for ~$200:

Got the only apt on the property with a lift. Can't wait to wake up to that view or sip a glass of wine with the night view!

Yes, and if you got apartment 6, then you got one on the fourth floor, with lift, of the building NEXT DOOR to the building with the terrace. However, it does say there are 4 balconies in that apartment, and the pics do show a view - and the place gets great reviews. just an FYI. Have fun!

It sounds from the comments that many of the apartments have views, not just the terrace. A lot of them say that, even one that was on the first floor. Although one guy says even though his apt supposedly had an elevator, it was broken. Of course that can happen, you never know. Seems like a good choice if you wants views so much. I never care myself as I'm not usually in my hotel room very much, especially in day time.
