Barcelona Catedral

I know that the Catedral in Barcelona is under repairs and that there has been scaffolding covering the exterior for over a year. Is there anyone out there who can lead me to an email address that I can write to so we can find out when the scaffolding is scheduled to be removed? I emphasize the word "scheduled" because I know I won't get any firm dates.

We are planning to be in Barcelona in mid-May 2006 and are trying to decide if we chould get a room at the Hotel Colon overlooking the Catedral Plaza or just an ordinary room. The price differential for several nights is significant.

Thank you in advance.

Ejk,
Last february we stayed at Hotel Colon...and opted for a room with a view. Even though there was scaffolding we figured we could see some of the "action" in the plaza. In hind sight...I don't think the extra price was worth the noise.
It is a lovely hotel & in a terrific location....you'll enjoy your stay!!

Just to add that as Bailey says, it's a great central location. I stayed just a little further over on Argentaria, near to Hotel Banys Orientals, but I'd go back to that part of Barcelona again, rather than consider any other.

And when you do go, visit Taller Tapas on Argentaria - terrific choice of tapas, lovely to sit outside in the little Plaza at any time of day, and their crema catalana is the best!

Have a great trip.
