B&B's/Apartments in Rome?
Have tentatively booked the San Daniele Bundi in Rome but can't seem to find any reviews (good, bad or ugly). Anyone been there?
Any other suggestions? Would prefer close to the Coloseum and Termini.

Why would you prefer being close to the Termini rather than the city center? If you are open for suggestions, type in "apartments in rome" (without quotes) in the search field above. You'll find dozens of recent posts on this question. Tell us when you're going, what your budget is and how many bedrooms you need etc..

It may be difficult to find an apt for a 4 night rental, most are a full week. I would highly recommend staying in a nicer area and pre arranging a cab to take you to the Termini on your departure day. I think for you to be in walking distance of eveything would make your visit much more pleasant. Is this your first time to Rome?

Go to www.venere.com or tripadvisor.com and serach for hotel in the Pantheon, Campo dei Fiori, Trestevere areas. Venere.com will allow you to search for hotels in certain areas by price range. You can also go to www.sleepinitaly.com and see if you can find an apt in those areas that will allow 4 day rentals.

Check out http://www.arcodellauro.it/eng/index.htm.
We are staying at this B&B (in the Trastavere) in October based on rave reviews at tripadvisor.com. We have corresponded with the owner, who is responsive and very, very amiable.

Try this site: www.romeby.com you can select the area and accommodation for search criteria. Also, click on the "where we are located" tab and then the option to see other properties in the area. This will bring all the options on a map. Click one by one to see the rates under the "booking" tab. Easy quick and gives a visual of proximity to the train terminal. You can then submit a form to request availability and rates.

The main thing is that you'll be in Rome, right? If you're not used to walking a lot, start now! Get a good streetmap. We used "Streetwise" series. You can get them at Barnes and Noble or other bookstores. Small, laminated and accordian folded.
Lots of great restaurant recommendations on this board, just do a search! Have fun!

May I also second Sandi's advice that it's just not worth staying near the Termini or the Coliseum, for that matter, just to make a train connection. Cabs --or car service, even easier and cheaper-- exist for this reason. Taking a cab or car to and from lodging is easier and costs less than inevitably finding you need one more often during your stay because you are farther from what you came to Rome to see and do.
This "Stay Central" rule goes double for a short trip, where lodging centrally puts everything literally at your door and saves precious time, because no matter how good a walker you think you are, it does take time. Also, if you want a break it's easy to stop 'home'.
If you have a short stay AND it's your FIRST trip to Rome, consider the "Stay Central" rule multiplied tenfold. You'd want to look for something in the Jewish Ghetto/Campo di Fiori, P. Navonna or Pantheon areas. Yes, you can rent many apartments for only four nights, though a week is usually the norm, but this close to travel your choices will be more limited.

mesh, we stayed at the Nicolas Inn on Via Cavour and loved the location. We walked every where except one morning to the Vatican but did walk back from there. It was convenient to get to Termini and we loved being so close to the Coloseum and Forum during the day and at night.
Via Cavour is not a lovely street but we found the location very suitable. Have a great trip. Deborah
