apt. rental rome
Our family , 2 adults, 3 teens, are traveling to Rome for 9 days this summer. It is our first trip. We have to choose between an apt. near the Campo dei Fiori and Trastevere. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?

I would recommend Campo dei Fiori. You'll be able to walk to EVERYTHING. Tratevere is just far enough out that you'll often need to taxi or bus. Having said that, they are both great areas. Do not get a place right on the square however as there can be nightlife noise. If you are at least half a block off the square, then you'll be fine.

I would take Campo area , esp. with teens as they can go out in the evening , hang around, be in the middle of things and still be "safe"
We rented a place between
Campo dei Fiori and Piazza Farnese, and it was noisy , but that is just something I think one will find most places.
Have fun!!!!!!

I agree to take the one near Campo Fiori!
I know many say that Trastevere is so less "touristy", but I haven't found that to be true -- at least in the center of it at night. I like Trastevere and always venture over for an evening or two, but not where I'd want to set up "base".

Bern,
Sorry if this is posted twice - I am having posting issues tonight.
Here?s a fairly recent link of the Trastevere area pros cons you might like to review.
