anymore info on hotel devillas?

My 2 friends and I took advantage of the NWA sale and are going to Paris in 2 weeks. Since this is a spur of the moment trip, we are on a limited budget. I was thinking of the Muguet which does have triples available and is well reviewed here and on tripadvisor, but my friends would like to see if we could go cheaper than 150E/nt. The Hotel Devillas looks good on it's website but there really isn't much info on it here and tripadvisor has absolutely nothing. Does anyone know anything about it? Is it as nice as the website portrays? Also, I realize it's kinda out of the way, but is the neighborhood bad or really too inconvenient? Thanks

Bueller? Bueller? Not even a comment on the general area?

Well, one of my friends suggested the Beaunier in the 14th because we can get a triple for 75E. Does anyone know anything about this hotel or have an opinion about staying in the 14th?

I like the 14th, but the Beaunier looks a bit frumpy to me (but have only seen web photos).

Look at this hotel (Hotel des Mines, 5th) - triple for 119€; here is the website:
http://www.hotel-desmines-paris.com/index.html

Here are reviews:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...de_France.html

It may be that the triple is a double bed + single; would that arrangement be OK?

It is a little out of the way, but I know the area and have seen the hotel, and it's not a bad neighborhood. I don't know if the hotel is as nice as it looks, it looks fine from the outside, at least.

It is very convenient for public transportation as it's virtually right in front of a bus stop (line 91) which goes over to the Bastille area or the other way to Montparnasse. Also, it's right near a metro stop, St Marcel. There is actually a lively small restaurant street very nearby, so you could easily dine in a different place every night and do fine -- they are a variety of cuisines, very reasonable prices. That is rue des Wallons. There is a cute small bistro on the corner of that street and rue Panhard called L'Oliver which has live music by young musicians (I think they are often music students) and dinner-concerts. This is unusual as it is classical pieces. The live music is usually Wed-Sat nights at 8:30, so drop by there to see the schedule if you stay over there and are interested. The owner is very friendly. There are several other good restaurants on that street, I remember a Caribbean one.

Thanks, travelnut, We actually want 3 beds, but I will check out the des mines. And yeah, the Beaunier looks kinda frumpy to me too, but they really want to go on the cheap and I hate to be the grouch. However, if I can find a nice alternative for not much more, I will definitely jump at the chance.

Christina, thanks for all the info. That definitely makes me feel better about the Devillas. I'll have to keep it in mind.

Of course, if we really want to go on the cheap I did see someone mention the Hotel Cosmos in the 11th on another thread. That is supposed to have triples for <60E The poster said it was nice enough. I haven't seen any other info on it though.
