Any reviews on Vacation In Paris #158 Madeleine?

I was able to score airfare to Paris for $387. Right now I have a 24-hour hold on this apartment, but I would like to hear any reviews about it. My concern is the window in the bedroom doesn't show any window coverrings. When I asked about it, Vacation In Paris didn't have info on it, but they are e-mailing the owner. I have been dealing with Susan, and I must say I have been very impressed with her service, because I had a lot of questions and she was super patient. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I can see what you mean, as you might be concerned about light and sleeping. No coverings in the other rooms wouldn't bother me, in fact, I don't have any window coverings on the window in my living room as it looks out over a state park in back and there is no one there, and the room would be dark with them. That is the top floor, so it looks like in the living room and DR, that would be fine. But no coverings in the bedroom is kind of weird, be sure to bring an eye mask. No normal person would want a bedroom like that, so if it is, it means no one really lives there (and the owner isn't thinking). I like it when someone elses belongings aren't everywhere, like in the closests and drawers.

No experience, but I like that location and it looks okay except for the very narrow and winding stairway, and there doesn't appear to even be a picture of the second bedroom, or did I miss that.

Good idea about the eye mask. I use one on the plane, so I'll have it with me. And you're right about there not being a picture of the second bedroom. That's weird not to include one. I think the staircase will be all right, but it does wind quite a bit. I'll have to ponder this tonight. The other apartment I am considering is this one: http://www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_156.htm

I've stayed in another apartment near there, and it's really close to the RER B line. Oh, well, I'll sleep on it tonight.
Thanks for your input.

Some of the apartments we've stayed in had metal shutters that closed on the outside of the windows. That is probably the case with this place. The apartment looks really nice. My husband won't go without a wall mounted shower though, so it won't work for us. Good luck and have fun.

Have you noticed that there is a curtain instead of a door on the bathroom in the main bedroom....wouldn't be my favorite set up

Nor mine either. But I think it will be all right for my husband and me. The boys can use the downstairs bathroom. I realize I will have to make some compromises in an apartment. At least I think this is one I can live with, but I will let you know after I've stayed there.

I also had great service from VIP. It was a very last minute thing and they went out of the way to be helpful.
The place looks fine, is certainly reasonably priced, and I agree about the outside shutters - you can see them in one of the pictures (5th one down on the extra photo page).

I thought about the metal shutters as I've had apts or hotel rooms in Paris with those, and like them, but I don't see any shutters on those photos (and I have looked at the extra photo page). I guess we are interpreting photos differently -- I don't see them in any photo, but if you are thinking of any, is it the floor below the top floor? those don't exactly look like obvious shutters to me, but I believe th ebedrooms are clearly on the top floor and that would be the most bottom photo. Those windows don't like like they have shutters to me.

I received an e-mail from Vacation In Paris stating the manager has advised that there are curtains or shutters for the windows. At least that's one less thing to worry. I went ahead and confirmed the reservation.
