Airhead emergency: adaptor!

Last trip hub left the adaptor in the socket. My new one came today and it doesn't fit my prongs. I'd need to pay $15.00 for a rush from Rick Steves (where I got it last time and know it works).

Unless my hair feels good I don't, though I've gone without hot air many a time.

My question is are adaptors easy to come by at BVD or Monoprix in Paris? I'm really close to BVD and sort of close to a Monoprix. They wouldn't cost $15.00, would they?

Hopefully someone will hear my plea: I'll check back later, I've other airhead business to attend to.

You can get adaptors and converters from any luggage store, and from any department store that carries luggage (at least in the USA you can).

PS: It is all your husbands fault for not having the right prong.

Hi giselle,

Radio Shack also has them.

You can buy them in Paris.

Not an adapater tip but just a wahoo because you're leaving so soon! How weird that your new one doesn't work. Have you checked Target?

Every hotel in Europe we stayed in had a blow dryer in it, why do you need an adapter?

It's not that he has the wrong prong, he just failed to pull it out of the socket.

Instead of buying a new adapter, why not just buy a hair dryer that works there?

You can get one at any FNAC, at BHV, or any électroménager in Paris. Cost - about 3 euros is what I paid last time.

Giselle, for the 15 bucks plus extra for shipping you could likely buy a French hair dryer!

I actually bought my last adaptor at a CAMERA store - they figure a lot of people are going on trips so they sell them there! call Ritz camera even. (mine was a pro-shop but you never know, maybe Ritz would carry em).

When we were standing at the desk in our hotel in Paris a woman approached and asked about adaptors for her cell phone. She had left the adaptor at home. The clerk pulled a box out from under the desk with a variety of adaptors. Check with the desk maybe someone else left an adaptor you can use.
