AIRFARES TO PARIS IN JUNE

Any suggestions where to look for reasonable airfares to Paris from U.S. mid-June-June 30?
(I'm coming up with $1,000 economy fares!)

I got $542 for April -- Columbus, Ohio, to London (Gatwick). June is primetime so will probably be more. I used Hotwire.com, but you are buying a little blind. Well, not exactly blind, but a little nearsighted maybe. You give them the dates and the cities. They will tell you how many stops and whether or not it is a red-eye (which I prefer). You must buy without knowing exact times, route, or airline. Then they tell you. I'm not at all disappointed. (I had checked the same major airline directly but Hotwire was cheaper). If you read other posts though, no one seems to end up disappointed. Out of curiosity, I just checked mid-june from Columbus, Ohio, to London. Hotwire was about $750. Don't know where you are flying from.

I don't know about other people, but I usually find the best price 3-4 months in advance. I figure it is because at that point the airlines are starting to worry if they aren't booked, but not so close that they are so overly booked that they close off discounts. Does anyone else have any ideas on that? Again, I usually go late spring or early fall, not June, July, or August.

You are going during one of the busiens times - rates go up sometime in May - either the 15th or June 1st.

I've not tried it yet but many of these companies mentioned on this site (go-today and 1800flyeurope) seem to have good fares.

We often use http://www.Expedia.com.

We've also used http://www.newfrontiers.com and flown on Corsair. They're sort of cattle cars (very crowded), but they are 747s and they do get you there.

http://www.gotoday.com is the URL for Go Today.com mentioned in other posts. We're using that for a trip to Rome this spring and they've been favorably reviewed on this forum.

I've been told to check Tuesdays around midnight for low air fares. Don't know if it's true or not, but it's worth a try. You could also look for flights to London and then JetBlue to Paris.

Just keep checking, you'll find something. Finding the ticket is always a major project.

Last year this time we got a bargin fare on expedia for $500. We went in late June and returned in July. We left from Boston. Try and see if there are any bargin fares. Good luck.
