When does airfare go down for June flight to Paris?

Airfare to Paris for June was $550 r.t. in August. Now the lowest fare is 1200 r.t. Do you think waiting until after the holidays (or the 1st of the year) will bring lower rates? Is it unrealistic to hope for 600 - 700 r.t.? Any tips appreciated as we are getting nervous. Reservations in apartment and hotels are all in place. Thanks for your help.

Don't forget that regardless of the time of year, the fares, to a great extent will depend on how much competition an airline has on a particular route..which is why it can be cheaper to fly to location X in Europe, or anywhere, from one airport, thasn another. It has absolutely nothing to do with the ground or air distance. So, when searching, you might try looking from "alternative" airports that are convenient for your departure..depending on how much moey you feel you want to save.

Now seems kind of early to buy a plane ticket for next summer. There will be a worldwide summer sale at some point in late winter or spring - there always is, even when the airlines are making boatloads of money.

Yes, I think it is very likely it will go down and wouldn't worry unless you didn't find something by March-April. $600-700 should be do-able if you are from eastern US.

If you saw $550 for June and you wanted it, I'd have jumped on it then. That is low, low, low for June travel. Hopefully you will get lucky but you'll just have to keep shopping every single day. And don't forget that often the publicized price in an ad may not include upt $100+ in taxes.

They will definitely go down $1200 is ridiculous for Paris in June!!! I would start searching again in jan/feb 04 if you find $500 -$600 I would jump on it.
I go to Paris about 4x a year (boyfriend is there on business) and I NEVER pay more than $600 !!!

Wait MAP. It will be lower next year--it certainly won't be any higher than that.

In March, we booked our June trip from Baltimore to Frankfurt at $491 round trip each including fees/taxes--and if we hadn't had to fly on weekend days, it would have been $441. Just 2 weeks before we'd been looking at prices in the $575-$600 range.

You might not get $441, but you'll certainly do a lot better than $1000+.

I started watching the airfare to Paris last spring ... I was expecting in the $750 neighborhood and kept seeing in the $950 neighborhood. Then in late July it went down to around $550 (for mid-March). I jumped on it, even though the trip was 9 months away. Now the fare for the same flight (still 4 months away) has gone up by over $100.

I too have been watching the airfare to Paris for mid-March and found it this morning for $476 from Detroit. Grabbed it! When I called Northwest, they said that fare may only last until midnight tonight. Lots of sales start at midnight on Tuesday night and only last 24 hours, and sometimes less. Just keep watching - there is no way to detect when the airlines will lower rates, or for how long. Good luck!

Jay: You really lucked out to get it for $404, and from Seattle! I just started watching last week and figured that, if I found it for under $500, I would take it because you just can not predict what will happen in the future. Besides, I wanted to get our hotel locked in too and feel better doing it after getting a reasonable airfare. Enjoy Christmas in Paris!

Have you used Lowest Travel before? Were you satisfied?? Has anyone else??
I have never used a consolidator before, but they have prices quoted for our preferred airline in June that are perfect for our budget! $850 from LAX to Pisa in mid-June.
Could someone please elp me not be nervous about booking these tickets.
Thank you!!!
