airfare to paris (pt. 2)

All,
The airfare to Paris is still over $600. Only looking at non-stop flights (I'm lazy) from Philadelphia, April 15-20. Delta/Air France is $658.27 and USAir dropped a bit to $632.40. I've been watching these prices since Thanksgiving and there's been no real change. Should I go ahead and buy? Or hold out for under $600? Thank you for your sage advice.

I would buy if I really wanted particular dates. I wouldn't expect a bargain air fare nonstop in April. That fare seems normal APEX fare to me for Spring. Besides, you only have a couple choices (two really). If USAir has more financial troubles, they could cut fares a little, but I wouldn't count on it. Are you really waiting to book a flight because you want to save $32?

Don't be bullied into thinking there are no bargains. I did a quick search using your dates and found a non-stop flight PHL to CDG for $584 (including taxes & fees) on US Airways. Flight 26 Leaves PHL at 8:05 P arrives CDG at 9:40A, and then your return on the 20th is flight 27 leaving CDG at 1:40 arrives PHL at 4:15. I found this using "sidestep" and it is an internet only fare.

You could book this fare or keep digging, there ARE bargains out there! Good luck & keep us posted as to what you find.

www.sidestep.com - - searches other search engines.

Here's the Yahoo description: "searches Internet travel deals and connects to airlines, car rental services, and hotels for booking reservations."

Requires a (free) download.

Best wishes,

Rex

Sidestep is exactly as Rex described. You can also try travelaxe.com or orbitz.com to compare the fares/rates on several different sites at one time. Makes 'shopping around' a little easier!
