Paris airfares

Want to go to Paris in February. Fares from Indy to CDG are running about $440 round trip. Is this a good fare or should I wait longer. I check the main cheap airfare sites - would appreciate any web addresses of anything cheaper.

i've been checking for philly to cdg in march and fares are still $600-700+.

anything under $500 is good!

I agree, take it. It's possible there might be some special deal if airlines aren't filling up with people going to France in February, but it's equally possible that fares will stay about the same as they are now - around $600. Go for it.

I picked up CDG from the Midwest in late February for around that fare several months ago. I've continuously watched that destination for years, I travel to CDG several times annually and I know what a decent fare looks like. My take: from Indy, that's a very decent fare and you should lock it in. There is a far better chance of paying more than of paying less and in any case, there isn't a LOT more room for it to fall. Book it and start planning the rest of your adventure.

No, I'm not a troll - haha. I had gone through JFK before but it's more expensive to fly to JFK from Indy and then go than Indy-Chicago-Paris. The only think I liked better about leaving from JFK is that you're on the plane about 2 hours less. That fare is Indy-Chicago-Paris. I've seen it on Expedia, and Air-Fare.com. There are no non-stop flights from Indy to Europe.

I think the airline was NW, I know American is $460 from Indy and I may take that since I have frequent flier miles on it.

If you are an AA frequent flyer, then the value of useful miles to you for this trip will be far greater than that. I would peg it at $125-$135 minimum. If it set the stage for you to achieve elite status in 2005 or you already have it, then the value would be even higher.

Flyboy, I have a trip to Paris from JFK (2/04)which I got miles for, and a recent trip from Indy to Seattle that I got miles on AA for also. Don't know how many I need for a free ticket.

I value miles at 1.5 cents each. The two trips you already have in would add up to approximately 11,000 miles and Indy-Chicago-Paris would be more than 8K to add to your total. Be sure to check for bonuses, promotions, etc. that could add even more and put you in a position to redeem more quickly.

The good part of flying Chicago-Paris is you have a longer time to go to sleep. Our Denver children seek this route.
