Air Ticket Surcharges

What a rude and ignorant response.

As if any airline (or airport official) is going to give a meaningful answer to such a broad question.

The short answer is that the taxes and fees are more similar than they are different. Generally $60 to $90. It depends on both the origination airport (this will result in $5 to 20 variation) as well as the destination airport (country) - - likewise responsible for a similar amount of variation. I think that there is roughly $50 in U.S. tax that is unvarying, but in general it will not be broken down for you.

Best wishes,

Rex
And I agree with Rex. You would almost need to set up a matrix with all possible origination airports and all possible destination airports. Working with a range, as he offered, is a practical answer to the question. The answer to the first part of the question is "No, they are not the same". The answer to the second part of the question is that there is a range, which was offered. Simple.

Sam,
Surcharges are _not_ the same, even from the same airport.

Approx. how much is not important unless you're buying from a site that doesn't quote surcharges as part of the price.

But to give you a number (based on what I've seen for a January trip from JFK to DE) surcharge/tax total is anywhere from $75-140.
