Mimi, I don't like to open links as that's where one can pick up viruses on the computer. I'm not saying your link might do that. I just don't click on them as a rule. A brief summary of yhe article would maybe get folks talking.

You can do a search without having to open the article.

I'm guilty of doing several of those! (Eiffel Tower, the Mona Lisa, le Forum des Halles, les Champs-Elyses!) and I had to Google Burger King in Paris, as I had no idea they were shut down in 1997... I remember eating there as a teenager in 1987... you know when you're away from home for the first time, French food is great and all, but a burger really hits the spot.

Agree with some but not with others.

I have asked people for directions in Paris a couple of times and the responses were perfectly polite. Perhaps since I asked in French.

But would not join lines at Eiffel Tower (get advance tickets) or see Mona Lisa except when the museum opens for 10 seconds - but I't seen it several times before.

Sorry I try to avoid typing as much as I can due to a physical problem. I never had a problem asking directions to a Parisian. Except one who asked me where a jewelry store was. When I explained I was an American tourist, she blew away

I've been fortunate enough to have been to Paris many times. Seeing the Mona Lisa and queuing for the Eiffel Tower were bad enough 35 years ago; can't imagine doing it now.

Gare du Nord is unavoidable if using Eurostar and for certain destinations but agree it's decidedly user-unfriendly.

As for 12% lagers, learned my lesson drinking Chimay ale in Belgium. Worst headache ever. Never again!
