Hi Melissa,

Do you happen to have the exact address for the apartment? My SIL can do miracles with pagejaune.fr and mappy in looking at the apartment building and street. For some reason my computer does not want to view pics of Paris apartment buildings through pagesjaune.fr other than aerial views.

The apartment sounds very tempting, and so close to Place des Voges too! Can't wait to see more pictures and hear about your trip. Please make sure to report back.

How long are you going for?

mmmmm Paris in April sounds lovely!

hi camel,

it's 39 rue de turenne, though all you may see on pagesjaune is a large green door which used to be a carriage-way. you go through there, and across a cobblestone courtyard to get to the flat. then, the winding stone staircase or tiny elevator (which is nice after a long day of trekking).

i'm getting a new camera just for this trip, so will send you pix asap. did you read the latest "comments" about the apt.? sounds like the queen bed is comfortable; my husband and BIL will be testing the twin beds...

we're very excited!

and... we'll be there for 7 days....

when you go in september, be sure to try out the bus system as well as the metro (have you discovered ratp.fr, the transit website?). the #96 bus stops about ten feet from the door and easily takes you over to the st. germaine area.

Hi Melissa,

Thanks for letting me know a new comment has been posted - I will definitely go and check it out.

I have discovered the beauty that is the Paris transit website (again thanks to my clever SIL). I was getting all excited looking at all the different metro lines and bus lines (and my hubby was rolling his eyes behind me).

Oh what fun we have when planning holidays!

Thanks for everything!!!

Hi camelbak,

Which apartment did you decide on? I am considering one of your choices, #2 http://www.parissweethome.com/parisr...aris.php?id=74

Did you decide for or against it and why?

My trip isn't until March 2008, but I like to plan early .

THANKS!

Tara

Just to add to the choices...we just rented from www.rentals-paris.com. Have not been to the apartment yet, but it has good location, looks good in the photos (of course), and is owned by a friend of a friend. We are going in October.

Good evening,

We actually haven't decided on an apartment yet - we are still trying to figure out if we are going for sure in the fall, so don't want to commit to anything yet.

Tarajane - thanks for the e-mail. I DO like the http://www.parissweethome.com/parisr...aris.php?id=74, though I think someone mentioned that it IS on the 5th floor, and it doesn't mention whether there is an elevator - so if you don't like stairs.

Someone also mentioned the lack of a dining room table, but just stools. To me that wouldn't be a big deal, but just a helpful "shout out" from another poster.

I really, really do like the apartment...I love the light and the bedroom nook.

I also really like-and have heard back about...

http://www.vrbo.com/79965

I don't know if it's the colours or what that I really like....but I really like #2 as well.....

So...now I am torn again!

Elainee - which apartment did you rent? I am SO jealous that your heading there soon!!!

We rented apartment in 6th. We always stay in that area. The apartment is listed as chchmidi on the website. Don't forget to think about some short day trips from Paris...Chartres, for example. Look at the website ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/pariswalking/ for English walking tours of Paris. I love walking tours even in cities I think I know well.
