Activities in Paris for 18 year olds

If you were a male 18 year old recent HS grad spending 2 weeks in Paris (July 2008) with your best friend and his family (parents and younger bros) what are the sights and activities that would most interest you?

I was thinking about what I’d want him to experience but that’s really not the same thing as what might interest an 18 yo is it?

When my sisters visited they didn't do any of the things I would have done and they had a wonderful time.

Thanks!

Hi S,

I think that the lad is old enough to post his own questions.

The main point is, "Will it be with our without the "rents"?

I think all the bones and skulls in the Catacombs tour would be interesting for any teenage boy, even an 18-year-old. Dude, it's rad.

Does he rollerblade? He'll want to do that rollerblading thing when the whole town is doing it. There are probably skateparks too, if that's an interest.

I had no idea that everyone is roller blading!!

Thanks for those ideas.

I think the boys will be allowed sufficient freedom. I imagine them posed at cafes smoking cigs and drinking coffee. Oh kind of like at home!

As if he'd actually post a question!

Perhaps a Segway tour. I would also check out what concerts, football/rugby games are on.

Depending on his interests, there is also a military museum, with items from the time of knights to the present

If they have access to Vélib, that will already be radical.

Wow Vélib is way cool!!! I'll let the family know about this. I'm sure the even the younger boys will like this.

'Course the 18 yos would rather ride a motorcycle!

After a long day of touring...there is also, potentially the Paris Plage..where they truck in sand and make "beaches" along the Seine. It was in July last year, not sure of dates next year. At some point young man will need a "fix" of les jolies parisiennes.

Catacombs and the sewers (les egouts) may be other underground possibilities.
