A $250.00 hotle in Paris next week. is that possible?

The price of poker just went up and my budget is now a little stronger. How about a good hotel for $250.00 US with free wifi? Is this possible. Near Arc de Triomphe or Latin Qtr. I have a meeting at the La Defense area but will like either location, Latin Qtr or near the Arc. I will be staying for 5 nights.
Any info will be helpful. Thanks,

I can only say I wish you luck. The Paris
Air Show is on next week and hotel rooms are really tough to get. You might try the Hilton at La Defense...for around $350 a night - all hotel prices are up during the show.

We've been trying to book for next week too and just booked a room (though outside your price range). It is super pricey next week. The websites with some of the best rates we found were skoosh.com, gtahotels.com, and expedia.com (had some okay deals on a few). Kayak.com was a good place to start looking. We've had luck in the past with laterooms.com, but were not interested in anything on there right now (but I think there were some in your range). If I were you, I'd go to the websites above, put in your dates, then arrange by "star rating"-- then scroll down until you find the best rated hotel in your price range on each one. Then compare the reviews on tripadvisor and choose from there.

Ratestogo.com lists some hotels, or actually many, for next week. Finding free wi-fi will take some investigation. Obviously it would be better to pay for wi-fi if the room is $50 a night cheaper, most likely. Lutece Port Royal Villa Paris is a 4*, which is not in the most central area, but it does have both wired and wireless Internet access.

Thanks for the info. Funny, I use Kayak for air all the time, and did not know it also did hotels. I think I want to stay in the Latin Qtr. 5 or 6 Arr. The meeting is way over by La Defense, but I feel that it is too far from the action. Any other suggestions for Latin Qtr would be appreciated. Thanks,

I don't usually stay in hotels in that price range (I'm more budget, last stay was at Hotel Monge for 106 euro). But, honestly, if you are looking for a Paris hotel, in high season, next week - you should be looking at the last minute websites to see what is available. I'm afraid you'll find that you won't have many to choose from because they will be full. I think it might be better to see what's open and then research those. Good luck!

I got curious and searched www.venere.com for 5 nights next week, there isn't much out there. Here is one that appears to availability and wifi. I just guessed and had the arrival as 6/26 for 5 nights. 180 euro per night. No recommendation but you could research it here. The neighborhood is good.

Hotel Odéon - Paris
3, rue de l'Odéon - 75006 Paris

I don't know if you know this, but if you look at the "zip" code of the address, the last 2 numbers are the arrondisment. So, the above hotel is in the 6th. I didn't see any non-budget hotels in the 5th with my search. Good luck!

I don't think rates are higher next week than usual during high season, but rooms may be booked up because of the air show. The problem is you want a business-hotel basically from the amenities you want (free wifi), and those are the ones likely to be booked up. Why do you care if there is free wifi if this is a business trip and you are willing to spend that much on a hotel? This makes no sense to me, but I guess it's good I am not in business. I mean, why does it have to be free, that's what I don't understand -- wouldn't that be a business expense? The problem is hotels near the Arc will probably be booked and cost more than that.

The Parc St Severin in the Latin Qtr has availabilities and is in that range, according to the hotel group they are part of (which I like and use, the Esprit de France group).

I don't think they have wifi, though.

Here is a hotel I stayed at (many years ago) that was lovely and very near the Arc, but off the beaten track. It DOES have wifi, but I don't think it's free, but the hotel isn't that expensive:
http://www.hotel-regence-etoile.com/

Their automated booking says they don't have rooms, though, which doesn't surprise me, but I don't know your exact dates, of course, I just tried 6/25-6/30. You could call, I guess, but that laterooms things may be a good idea.

They do have AC and doubles at 165 euro that are free last week in June (supposedly).

sorry, not to mislead you, my last sentence got in there by mistake and was a reference to the Parc St Severin, not the Regence Etoile.

BTW, I just checked and it appears the air show is over 6/24, so that sounds promising.

Just go to www.accorhotels.com -- they have more than 150 hotels in Paris and most of them are under $250.

You are all great for helping me. I have gone on the websites and a lot are not available for the entire week. I usually see that a few days are available but not all 5 days. You are right about paying for wifi and my company does pick it up. For me it's like paying for water in a restaurant which I do not like to do. If my dad was around he would think it's crazy to pay for water in a restaurant. I will check all the posting. I think I did find something on Rue de Jacob. A little higher but I will check the others. I did try a few that were mentioned and they were booked. I really cannot wait to go though. I will let you know how I made out.
