I noticed Azzurro Italian, Boulevard Brasserie, Maxwell's Bar/Grill and Rowleys...

We're far from being food-knowledgable but that free entree is certainly appealing and any thoughts you may have are most appreciated. Thank You.

As far as I can see they are all fairly average chains. If you enjoy great food you will probably be underwhelmed. If you just want a cheap half-decent meal they are probably fine.

Sometimes one just needs fuel and a bargain is good.

Not all are chains but are mostly comparable to Applebee's, Chili's, Elephant Bar type places in the States. Perfectly OK.

Boulevard Brasserie in Covent garden is fine

Generally places that need to move a lot of people through to make money and will likely get more business from tourists not familiar with local places to eat.

Time Out London used to offer a lot of restaurant deals but now you have to buy a card to get the offers. I think it costs somewhere around 20-30 pounds so its probably only worth it if you are in London more than a few days.

Check out opentable.co.UK especially if you eat before 7.30pm as there are a lot of pre-theatre deals.

Got a great meal through travelzoo last trip to london... also formal tea...sometimes use groupon etc also.... but with all of those, you must commit before going.

If you are watching your pence the better course may be to do less expensive but still unique restaurants. London has many. On www.timeout.com for London I believe they still have a "cheap eats" section.

Also look on opentable.co.uk. They sometimes have special deals if you book through them.
Eating early and benefiting from pre-theatre deals is also an option.
