2 weeks in Provence with a 4-year old
Hello, we will spend 2 weeks in Provence first half of July with our 4-year old. We booked one week in Cabrieres d'Avignon (near Gordes), 2 nights in Nice and 5 nights in Bargemon.
Any tips for a good itinerary? Here are some of my thoughts:
Day 1: Avignon, Pont du Gart
Day 2: Arles, Camarques
Day 3: Cassis, Calanques
Day 4: Luberon villages
Day 5: More Luberon villages and lavender fields
Day 6: Aix en Provence
Day 7: Carpentras and ....?
Any ideas around Bargemon? Gorges du Verdon?
Also, we are vegans.
Thank you!

I presume you mean Camargue in 2). Your itinerary seems a bit ambitious with a 4 year old, I guess maybe mainly days 1-2. BUt I guess you can drive to Pont du Gard in about an hour, do what you want, then go to Avignon for the afternoon, sure.
Carpentras isn't as overtly attractive as some cities but does have some items of interest if you target them. Since you want to go there, I presume you have a reason. Some Roman ruins (you probably don't need more of those), a cathedral, Hotel Dieu hospital and pharmacy are preserved. Carpentras has an interesting Jewish history, not sure if that is you reason. Their synagogue is the oldest in France.

I don't understand their website which only talks about visits during winter (thru May). Although you can book a visit in July if you want, the website works for that.

As long as you are heading that way, you could visit Vaison la Romaine. I really like Grignan and Nyons up in that part of the country, so I'd visit them also if you have time, These aren't all that far apart really by car, I think Grignan is only about an hour's drive from where you are staying. there are some beautiful lavender fields up in that area also. Grignan has a castle to visit. I really like the Drome department (and Vaucluse).
