2 left in Positano...decision on Capri?

In Positano our last two that we are down to are the Covo dei Saraceni and the Hotel Poseidon--- preferences between the two? Goods and bads? I think we are staying at the Marriott Tiberio Palace on Capri. Worth the $500 or so dollars a night? From what I can tell it seems like a lovely place...

I think the Hotel Poseidon is higher up in the town, which is my preference. Capri is lovely if you were staying in a yurt. I am sure the Marriot is great. If I had $500 per night to spend on a hotel room, I would go for it.

Most hotels in Positano look so nice, as well as Capri, I am starting to think we can't go too wrong

The Tiberio Palace on Capri is no longer a Marriott.

We booked it. It looks nice. I think we are also booking the Saraceni on Positano.

Darcy: I mentioned this on another thread. I have friends who are very fussy about hotels (much more so than I am). They love Al Covo and they go back every summer. Just make sure not to book the least expensive room in any of these places, as you may be disappointed. That is just a general observation and holds true in Venice (I mentioned my opinion of that category at the Gritti) as well as in Positano.

Personally I like Amalfi and if I wanted to splurge, I would stay at Santa Caterina, or at the newly reopened and sure-to-be fabulous Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi, the former Cappuchini Convento.

Yes, the Tiberio Palace looks VERY nice! That's why so many of us Marriott Reward members are unhappy that it is no longer a Marriott... we wanted to use points there.

If you don't stay at Hotel Poseidon, at least go there for lunch. Absolutely stunning views and incredible food!
