2 days on my way to prague

Hi

I'm visiting prague mid March 2019 and would like to visit a place on my way back. I have 2 days and interested in nature landscapes or snow hiking. i appreciate any suggestions.

On your way back to where? Does "two days" mean you have three nights, or would the third night be near your departure airport? I assume you're traveling by train and not car....

I will be going back to Cyprus. I'm open to any country within 1-2 hours flight from prague. I would have to leave prague on friday afternoon and back to Cyprus on Sunday night. I'm mostly interested in nature scenic places like hallstatt for e.g but prefer snow.

there will be snow at higher elevations at Hallstatt at that time. Easy to take train there from Prague but would take a whole day. Maybe fly to Switzerland and go to Interlaken area for a day and train up to perpetual snow.

You are constrained by direct flights possible from Prague to an airport which will get you reasonably close to mountains and which also has direct flights to Cyprus. I would think that's a fairly short list.

In mid-March, you might have to get to a fairly high elevation for the hiking to be in snow and not mud. If you can drop the snow hiking, you can find beautiful landscapes in countries that are cheaper than Switzerland.

There are lots of routes out of Prague, but I think finding the direct flight to Cyprus on a Sunday night will determine where you can go.

I think the other way you approach this is to look at the destinations that are possible to stay at, go to Google maps and do "search nearby" in the drop down and search ski resorts.

Typically you can find out when resorts open/close for the season. That gives you some clue as to the likelihood of snow.

The other thought I have is to think about options between Prague and Munich, a major airport. Also could you take the train to your hiking spot and then another train to the airport?

And for such a short stop anywhere, I'd try to keep the transportation between points as simple and free of connections as possible. If you encounter a delay or a flight gets cancelled, you might not have time to get much beyond the train station or airport. FYI, there are several ski areas within 90 minutes of the Zurich airport using public transport.

Maybe just take bus or train to Munich for a few days - do a day trip to Zugspitze - fairly close and may have snow there. Or Zurich to Mt Titlis where there will be snow up top.

I understand that places with snow are limited in march and maybe I will also consider landscapes with no snow as along as I can hike and enjoy the scenery. My return flight doesn't have to be direct, im ok with transfers so im not limited to destination with direct connection to Cyprus. Being 1-3 hours train ride away from airport is ok as well. So far i thought of the following: fly to Salzburg and visit hallstatt or fly to Zurich and visit Lucerne area or fly to Amsterdam and visit Zaanse Schans. I appreciate any suggestions. I have been to all bavaria, berchtesgaden, jungfrau, interlaken, lauterbronnen areas before so I'm going to skip them this time. Thanks in advance

I would not fly to Amsterdam just to visit Zaanse Schans - windmills are nice but it heavily touristed with tour buses and not that awesome really. But Amsterdam could certainly fill a wondrous few days.
