2 adults 3 children...where to stay
May husband and our three children (ages 15-18)will be in London for 3 days, from Jan 2-Jan 5. Where is the best place to book a hotel. I can not find anything that will allow for 5. I need to stay in an area where we can get transportation to the Gatewick Airport easily. Any suggestions.

No, you will not be able to find a room to sleep 5 of you, but you should be able to find a double/twin room and a triple room.
Or is that your problem - you can't find two rooms in one hotel to accommodate all of you?
There are many hotels around Victoria in London where you may not get luxury all the way but which would be perfectly adequate for a 3 day stay.
You could try
www.lastminute.com
www.hoteldirect.co.uk
Or for 3 nights it might be better to go for an apartment.
Have you done a google search? I just put in london hotel and got loads of options for hotels and apartments.

Stay at the Thistle-Victoria Station, walk out the back door into the station itself and directly onto the Gatwick Express. Be at Gatwick in minutes. I've been staying here since 1983 just for this very reason. I often travel with my 2 sons and they love this area as well.

The Capital has two connecting rooms and two bedroom suite. The Goring offers a "Family Room", which I believe is two connecting rooms. Wherever you stay, I agree it's worth the extra you may have to pay to put the kids in a separate room - they may appreciate their space away from Mom and Dad at the end of the day.

In fact, here is the contact information along with the website so that you can view the property. When I first stayed here in '83, it was known as the Grosvenor.
