Stay away from Ft. Lauderdale airport

Stay away from the Ft. Lauderdale airport. My wife and I just came back from a cruise and found it the most out-of-date, overstressed facility in the U.S. Give yourself at least three hours time to leave. What gives?

Had the same experence a few years ago, and have been back since - nothing improves! Why don't they put more people on when they KNOW the people are coming off the ship is beyond me! And NEVER try to get out of there earlier-just makes for more nightmares! What else can you do when so many ships leave that port? And WHAT YEAR will the new airport be finsihed????

I had the same experience...it was crowded and confusing until about 2:00. What I didn't understand is that they were bussing people up from the Voyager in MIAMI to the Ft. Lauderdale airport. Geeze, does that make sense? Miami airport is so much better(Miami pier, too)!!

Not only confusing, but we just returned from there last week and the sky captain didn't even check our id's because he was too busy yelling at a new employee. I had to turn around and ASK him to look at our ids!! Very disconcerting and if I had it to do over I surely would have reported him. Sorry I didn't.
Yes, great airport. Lines are sometimes long but they move quickly. Granted there are some glitches but that is expected in all airports.

Paul
