Transportation - Ft. Lauderdale to Miami

My sister and her husband are flying into Ft. Lauderdale to catch a cruise in Miami. They are not using the cruiseline air package---they have free tickets on Southwest, so they have to flight into Lauderdale. Other than renting a car, is there some form of transportation that would take them to some point in Miami? Is there an airport to airport shuttle or anything? Thanks for any info.

We used TriCounty Airport express from FLL to our hotel in Miami the night before a cruise. We did not arrive until almost midnight, but the company had both vans and private cars headed out.

Thanks, Columbiana. I actually found that doing a Google search, also, but was hoping someone had some personal experience. I guess I will give them a call, though. Thanks for the reply.

Even if you don't use the cruiseline air package you can usually arrange for a transfer from the airport through the cruiseline. They most likely have people flying into Ft. Lauderdale also.
If not there are vans, taxis, towncars that run to Miami. Transportation shouldn't be a problem.

I've used tricounty and it worked perfectly fine. I flew into FLL with a friend, and we shared a town car with another couple.

TransFloridian <http://tinyurl.com/ysmq9j> provides this service, but they are not cheap. At least, they are an option.
