We stayed at the Best Western Loyal inn the night B4. Its close to the pier, inexpensive and has a free shuttle to the ships and breakfast is included in the price. We also stayed 3 nights post cruise at the Hotel Vintage Park which is much nicer but much pricier too. For a one night stay precruise the former would do quite wll. Cheers, Larry

There are two cruise terminals in Seattle. One (Pier 30 - Holland America and Princess) has no hotels nearby; the other (all other lines) has a Marriott across the street ($$$) and the Edgewater ($$$) next door. Other hotels are farther and will need a taxi or shuttle for access to the ships.

We took Princess and the ride to the pier was about 15 min. We chose to cab it and the fare was nominal. Hope this helps. BTW for Alaska it helps to have a pair of binoculars. On the way to the ship during embarkation they were being sold from a kiosk but its better to get them B4 then. Cheers, Larry
