Arlene, check with Marriott Springhills Suites. We stayed with them in Dec. before our Radisson Diamond Caribbean cruise. Very reasonable with shuttle service! They picked us up at the Ft. Laud airport, then took us to the ship the next day!
Happy Trails and Sails!
M.B.

There's been a lively discussion on another board about your question. If you don't require 5 diamond accomocations, a number of people suggested the Comfort Inn. Here's a representative statement:

"...We also stayed at the Comfort Inn Stirling Rd. before our Xmas cruise, it was $69 a night then, just booked it again for our Dec. cruises and it was from $80 to $90 a night. Still a good price IMO as they pick up at the airport, take you to the ship and pick you up from the ship to go back to the airport....."

Its described as clean and very adequate, with a number of restaurants nearby. Several posters say they'd stay there again.

http://www1.choicehotels.com/ires/en-US/html/HotelInfoGeneral?sid=gYY3i.2_0E05Li4.1&hotel=F L243

We use the Amerisuites. They have a free shuttle from airport/to cruise ship. Friends of ours like the Embassy Suites. Neither is on the beach if thats a priority for you. We get prices from$69-100 for 1 night. The Amerisuite has a small buffet breakfast in the morning. There is also a shopping plaza across the street for any last minute items...and an Outback Steakhouse.
