Celebrity Constellation or RCCL Adventure of the Seas
I need a little bit of help on this situation. My family is choosing between the Celbrity Constellation or the RCCL Adventure of the Seas. We are going in December of 2002, right around Christmas time, and are all fairly seasoned cruise travelers. My parents are both about 50, I will be 21 and my brother will be 18. We've been on RCCL, Princess, and Carnival before, and we want a higher-class ship than say a Carnival, but it is not necessarily a deciding factor. We want to be very active on our vacation as we get bored easily, so excursions and ports of call definitely come into play here. Also 3 out of the 4 of us are SCUBA divers, so any comments on the quality of diving will be appreciated as well. Thanks.

Ron even though you are a wolverine I'll give you a good piece of advice. Since no one has responded to your post, prefering instead to discuss hot topics such as see through swimsuits and other various crap I'd suggest you seek advice elsewhere. www.cruisecritic.com has both an RCI and Celebrity forum and you could post your question on both and see what people have to say. I think X is more elegant while RCCL is livlier but I've never been on the Adventure or Constellation specifically.

We just returned from a European cruise aboard the Constellation, beginning in Copenhagen ending in Dover with stops in Norway and France. The ship is fabulous--service fantastic--great food. On most cruises you meet people that find things to complain about. That wasn't our experience on this ship--people were impressed with the ship, the food and the service. There was a blend of ages on this cruise, but it was in the summer, so there were several families. You can't miss with the Constellation!

Been on both the Millenium (Constellation) and the Explorer (Adventure) and for us its the RCCL Voyager class ships hands down. More activities (rock climbing, in-line skating, ice skating, minigolf, full court basketball, etc) and the beauty of the ship itself. The Promonade on the RCCL ships is a wonder in itself and the Constellation design left out the atrium concept and has a three story open area instead- just not the same.
