Did you also read these (two) positive reviews on Cruise Critic?

Those rates sound very good. It depends though on what deck. You don't want to be too far down. The Lido Deck is often a fare amount more expensive than a room 3 decks below. On a cruise , except Alaska, if you have half "at sea" days the balconey is not as worthwhile as if if you have more stops and a few at-sea days. On your cruise it sounds like a balconey cabin on the Lido (even if $100/person more) or one deck below that is worthwhile with the verandah. Don't expect it to be to big. Often just enough for 2 beach chairs or similar size chairs.

Tuesday, Jan.31, my husband was browsing cruises and found the Costa Magica, eastern, for $299, inside, leaving Feb.5th (my birhtday!). He called our fantasic, only cruises, TA and we ended up with a balcony cabin, deck 8 cat.9. This is for, $299@ which includes port charges!! Have to go pack, leaving tomorrow, 5 AM!
