Requestaword: You'll like the windjammer. On the St. Lucia thread, I mentioned that was one of the better parts of our trip. I find that more people are pro St.Lucia on this site. Good to get a wide variety of opinions to get as much info as possible. While I do think it's a shame go "hole up in the resort" as another poster said, please understand it is not an easy island to navigate. I would recommend a water tour out of the Windjammer that can take you to the Soufriere area so you don't have to deal with the road. Or go on a tour so you don't have to drive. The Windjammer has an extensive tour menu. You mention you live in New York and if you can make it there you can survive the trip. Well, I live in LA, also a high stress city - which is why I don't need my vacation stressful as well! Good luck - interested to see your report.
