Look into Gallows Point.

You should be aware that December 15-April 15 is high season in St John.

Rates will be less expensive after April 15.

Gallows Point is a good suggestion, though not inexpensive.

A villa rental might give you the best compromise of cost vs. amenities like having a pool and location.

Try www.vrbo.com for villa rentals by owner.

We are going in two weeks to St. John and staying at The Inn at Tamarind Court. They have single rooms for $75 at night and an apartment that sleeps four for about $225 a night. I'll let you know what it's like when I return. I've read a few of the posts here and everyone says it's not a fancy place but it's clean. That's all I expect. I'm never in my room anyway.
