Weddings at Caneel Bay

We are considering a wedding at Caneel Bay this October. Has anyone been married there or know anyone who has had their wedding there? I would be interested in hearing opinions on this.

Lori,
Caneel bay is a beautiful property, and would be a lovely setting for a wedding. Additionally, there are many other wonderful beaches to choose from on STJ- if you want to get married on the beach. The Westin STJ, has a gazebo, and many have married there.
My husband and I renewed our vows on Hawksnest beach at 8 am and no one else was around...it was very lovely. For additional insight and info check with Rev. Anne Marie Porter at www.stjohnweddings.com
If you would like additional info about STJ...check out my other posts or email me directly. Congratulations!

I did not, but a co-worker had her reception there (ceremony was at a nearby church). She was very pleased with the entrie experience and recommended it to those looking for a destination wedding location.

Just married on St. Thomas. Spent a day at Caneel Bay - it is beautiful and will be a great spot for a wedding. Some advice - be very very certain of your arrangements. We stayed at the Ritz and had our wedding there. The Ritz wedding coordinator is useless, hates her job and her incompetence made our wedding so much more stressful. She canceled the minister we had arranged for so we got someone we did not even like. Be sure you know who is going to marry you and get it in writing. Get everything in writing. If there is anything you are certain you want, arrange it yourself and reconfirm 20 times before the day of the wedding. Also keep in mind Oct. is hurr. season and this is supposed to be a bad year. Best wished for a beautiful wedding.
