Villa or resort?
I was wondering if anyone can make recommendations re: an upcoming trip to Anguilla. I am thinking more of staying in a resort (Cuisinart), while my husband would prefer a villa. I do see some amazing villas online, but none are beachfront. Any suggestions on the best way to experience Anguilla? Thanks so much, Karen

I just stayed at Cove Castles, which is a villa resort. It's great for someone who wants a villa with some of the amenities of a resort. Another one is Callaloo Club. Cove Castles has a restaurant, while Callaloo Club does not. Another option is to look into some of the boutique apartment resorts if the kitchen is what makes the diference.

Personally, for me, I prefer to stay in a resort or hotel on my first visit to an island so that I can take advantage of the resort's concierge service and its management's recommendations on restaurants, sites to visit, rental car, etc. The Cuisinart is a first class resort. You won't go wrong staying there.

Also, while Anguilla is still very very safe, relatively speaking, there have been a few burglaries, attacks on tourist and even one murder of a tourist in the course of the past few years. ALL of these took place at the villas, none ever at a resort or hotel. Something to take into account, perhaps!
