Timeshares in the Caribbean

We are planning a vacation for next spring in the Carribean. I posted earlier, but have another question. We belong to both RCI and II. I would appreciate any information anyone has to offer about good or bad experiences. Resorts to really shoot for and those to avoid. Thank you again! Lori

You should consider posting this question to the timeshare owners bulletin board. Try http://www.tug2.net/index.html. I think they also have a section for resort reviews that can only be viewed by timeshare owners.

We once traded into the Pelican Resort in St. Marteen. We didn't like it at all, but then again we didn't like St. Marteen. I've heard that Costa Linda in Aruba is nice. By the way, we got a week in February as a trade.

We are part of II through Hyatt Vacation Club. Our home resort is Hacienda Del Mar in Puerto Rico, it's wonderful. We have also traded to La Cabana Resort in Aruba and Eagles Nest in Marco Island Florida and have been very pleased with the quality. Since we have had such gold eexperiences with the II Gold resorts we try to stay with those. We belong to TUG, we find it really helpful and worth the very small membership fee.

Another vote for going to the TUG bulletin board referenced above. Just to clarify you don't have to pay a membership fee to access much of the material there, and checking out the Caribbean section will give you lots of info. on both RCI and II resorts. If you want the more in-depth reviews there you'll have to pay the $15. But you may get enough just from the free areas. And the posters there are generally civilized...
