Parrot Cay or Point Grace

I've seen several old posts comparing Point Grace with Grace Bay Club but I haven't seen much comparing Parrot Cay with Point Grace, does anyone have an opinion as to which is nicer in terms of accomodations and cuisine? How about in terms of access to scuba diving?

my husband & i spent 5 days at Parrot Cay in January and loved it - we can't stop thinking about it. I have colleagues that have stayed at Point Grace and were disappointed. It's all a matter of what you're going for. Parrot Cay is very secluded and quiet. For diving, you can either sign up w/ the hotel or take the free boat to the provo marina and go on one of the regular diving boats. We used Sail Provo for a snorkle dive and it cost 50% less. Turns out that Parrot Cay charters Sail Provo to do their dives and charges a mark-up! It costs $100 more just because Sail Provo picks you up at Parrot Cay!

Point Grace is on Grace Bay, TC's main stretch of beach. It's smack in the middle of all the other beachfront resorts on Grace Bay and there is no privacy on the beach. At Parrot Cay, I think there were approximately 12 other people on the beach, all Parrot Cay guests. Sorry, make that 13, the bartender delivering pina coladas.

The opposite point of view from the previous poster -- people left Parrot Cay and came to Point Grace because of the monotony of the same restaurant every day and the bugs. And don't think Pt. Grace's beach is crowded, most of the time there was no one on the beach and you can walk for miles. I do agree with the previous poster that it depends on what you like. If you want to be totally secluded, go to Parrot Cay. Keep in mind though that it is not easy to go back and forth, so you will not be able to go to Provo for dinner, for example. If you want to try different restaurants every night, you should choose Point Grace. Pt. Grace had the most spectacular accomodations I have ever seen and from what I have seen on Parrot Cay's website, I don't think PC compares. But PC has done a wonderful job marketing itself as escapism for the rich and famous. it also seems from the website that not all the PC rooms have an ocean view so you might want to check that if it's important to you.

I must confess that since being from New York, when I vacation, I am completely anti-social. I have become accustomed to the Four Seasons & Ritz Carltons and felt that PC fit right in. I agree w/ Eileen that it's not easy going back & forth but my husband & I never felt a need to. Between the two restaurants, our gourmet desires were met. The restaurants have a very asian flavor to their dishes (lots of Thai influences) so if you like it, you're set. If not, then you should probably stay elsewhere so that you can try the other restaurants.

Also true is that not all the rooms have ocean views. From what I saw of PG, the grounds of PC are much more extensive, even though you have to walk around w/ lots of bug spray.

Parrot Cay has the Asian influence and the spa services are out of this world. Someone comparing properties has never seen Parrot Cay up close and personal. Those beachfront accomdations are absolutely spectacular. Definitely Thai and Pacific Rim cuisine, expensive (a bit over priced) wine list for the offering and where do all those bugs come from? I enjoy Meridian Club more as it is less high maintaince and barefoot elegance. Only 12 rooms and wonderful staff.

I'd never recommend the Point Grace.
Great rooms, but unfriendly management team and staff team.
Ongoing Tension between Staff and Management because they refuse to pay the 10% service charge. That is a part of point grace budget.
The elevator beeping at wee hours..gosh

Grace Bay Club, Ocean Club or Private Villa are better choices. NOt Point Grace.
Whatever you are looking for at point Grace you can get it cheap and better else where
