The Gecko....yeah or nay?!

Anyone have experience using the Gecko for transportation during their visit to Provo? We are thinking about buying a family pass for the length of or at least part of our trip in place of or to supplement days we may rent a car. Good idea or bad idea?

I have not used the Gecko shuttle but it does now go to the IGA and Turtle Cove--so that makes it an even a better bargain. A 7 day family pass is $88. Our children are in their 20s so I don't know if we would be able to buy a family pass.
We are visiting for the first time in a couple weeks and staying in a cottage so I have decided to rent a 4 door sedan--Provo Rent a Car tells me that our total cost for 6 days will be $255--I tried to confirm this yesterday, by e mail but my mail was returned--will resend on their reservation page. Seems really reasonable for an island rental. Having a car will give us an option to explore the island or try another beach when we want---my husband is a little nervous about having so few alternatives to the beach. He is golfing right now in Naples though--his second golf trip this spring, so he has been very agreeable to any plans we are making for this trip.

Was in Provo 10 days ago and used it one day. It runs a pretty regular schedule, they give you a brocure with locations. It is hot and can be very bumpy on the unpaved roads. You have young kids that will probably think it is fun.
