The beach was great, nice silky sand, turquoise water....lots of watersports available too. We spent a lot of time on the beach too. We loved it and went back 4 months later. There are many pools, quiet as well as active. Resort casual dress for dinner; good food.

How far of a ride is it from the airport to the resort? Is it safe to wonder off the resort without a guide. Snorkling ??

Thanks

I cannot recall how long it was from the airport. ..maybe 30 minutes??? We were met at the airport, and once there, greeted with champagne and a cold cloth. We only left the resort with planned excursions, transportation picked us up at the door. But I imagine others rented a car and explored on their own. The resort is secluded, fenced in. But the beach is public and we walked safely all down the beach. There are vendors on the beach. We took several snorkeling trips that were included in the package, and a picnic to another area for snorkeling....plus water skiing right in front.
For dinner, we made our reservations, on our way to breakfast. I ate lobster nearly every night.

Sounds very nice. We have been to Sandals in Jamaica(Negril and Dunns River) and also to St. Lucia. We enjoyed Sandals negril the best because we were able to walk a long ways on the beach. Sounds like you can do the same in Antigua. We also like to snorkel, sounds like this may be the place to go. Thanks for the imput

Can you give me some general info about the other Sandals you visited? We went to St. Lucia, but at the Regency the beach was red flagged, and the Halcyon beach was very small.

We stayed at the Sandals Grande in St. Lucia. It is very nice. The beach is about a 1/2 mile long. The sand is not pure white but it is stone free aand nice to walk on. The grande is is almost at the end of the island. There is a park at the very end where you can walk and visit old war (french/english) I believe. It is pretty hard walking but a lot of fun.
The resort is very plush aand well kept. The food pretty good, normal sandals resturants. If your looking for night life there is not much going on there for that. By 1000 pm it is pretty much a ghost town. Overall it is a pretty nice resort.
