I would strongly recommend the Ritz over the Wyndham. We were at the Wyndham this past November and found it to be very average and run of the mill. The food was average, drinks were average, etc... There was just nothing special about this place and since this will be your wedding, I am assuming you would want it to be special. During our 6 day stay, there was no electricity on and off for 4 of the 6 days (meaning no a/c and no elevators - the Wyndham is a high-rise) and no hot water. The Ritz on the other hand has many "extras" that set it apart and above the Wyndham, including service and attention to detail. The Wyndham is clean and an okay place to lay your head but the Ritz is about 10 notches above in every category. The other place I would recommend is the Half Moon. You can e-mail me if you have specific questions. We did not go AI (thankfully so) and ate at a number of area restaurants.

Thanks for your input. Sorry, I didn't clarify- looking at Montego Bay...

Ritz vs. Wyndham

(Seems like the Wyndham is a bit of a step down but I can't tell)

How nice is the beach/pool area of the Ritz? I can't find any good photos.

Thanks for your help!

Ann Marie;

Knowing both properties.....You are comparing apples to oranges between the Ritz and Wyndham.....The Ritz is far and away the more upscale property of the two........Now if you want to compare the Ritz to Halfmoon then that's ok....To compare those two is to compare old school to new contemporary....both very nice but 1/2 Moon is a much larger property with a more antique feel...Depends on what you like. Good luck!!

We stayed at the Ritz and had met someone who has stayed at Round Hill previously and thought she would be killed in her sleep.
Since this is your wedding, I would not stay at a place where guests have not felt safe.

No contest - Wyndham is MORE than one step down. Ritz is much better.

Half Moon might be worth a look.

Thanks for the info on Half Moon.

We're going to check it out. Seems as if these two are neck-and-neck. Just can't decide.

Anyone know which has less of a "kid factor?"

I went to Montego Bay last summer to find a wedding location. I stayed at the Wyndham & Ritz Carlton Montego Bay last summer. I lasted one night at the Wyndham. I didn't like it and too many kids. It is more of a family resort, but not 5 stars. As others have said, it does not compare to the Ritz (5 stars). I also visited Half Moon and ate dinner there. Both resorts, Ritz & Half Moon, are beautiful. If you want more of a resort village atmosphere (huge, need to catch the tram to get anywhere), then Half Moon is the place to go. If you want a more cozy atmosphere, less people, then I would go with the Ritz. Both have wedding packages. Both resorts have kids, but well mannered, so that was not a problem at either resort.
Good Luck
