Ritz Carlton Rose Hall

Just back from a 6 night Key to Paradise stay at the Ritz. This is my second trip there, the first was 2 years ago. I would be happy to try to answer any questions.

Yes, all inclusive means all. Except for bottles of wine or champagne, but you can drink all the glasses worth that you want. You can add an additional tip for good service which i did because most of the staff treat you like royalty. All the meals are ala carte so you can order whatever you want. there is a breakfast buffet but you could also order off the menu. If you like to eat and drink you can make out like a bandit. also, if you play golf, you have to try the white witch, even if you dont, go there for lunch and dinner, you wont be dissapointed.

thanks so much for the info. we used a travel agent (something we normally don't do) and just wanted to make sure that she wasn't "snowing" us. were you able to use room service? also, i think i read somewhere that you can not have a drink or wine with meals, if this the case? were there any side trips offered at the conceirge desk? dunn's falls, river rafting, etc.? how did you find the restaurants? would you recommend one over the other? we are going to make reservations from here (Jasmine's, White witch) and aren't really sure which is considered the best. we will make sure to bring lots of cash for tips. what do you consider a good tip that would get you on the good side of the servers? say a drink on the beach, $2.00, $3.00? Also the restaurants? we are world travelers and go to europe every year, but are not really "island" people, so we appreciate any insight we can get. Once again thanks for your help.

Yes, room service is included, no problem mon, and you can have as many drinks as you want with supper or breakfast or any time of the day. we hired a taxi for the day ( 6 hours for $150) and went to dunns river and ocho rios, unless you really want to do this, i think it is a waste of time and money. you can rent a cab for 35 an hour if you feel the need to leave the property. the ritz shuttles (or lincoln towncars) take you to the golf course, beach club and half moon shopping center). Jasmines is the signature restaurant with asian jamaican cuisine in small portion servings, usually 3 plus dessert if very filling. It is very classy. Make reservations thru the ritz web site for dinners between 7 and 9, they are the popular times so book in advance, I went to Jasmines 2 nights, horizons 3 nights and white witch 1 night. would have gone to white witch more but my wife got bit with mosqitos, because it was outdoors, if there is a breeze, they wont bother you.I gave 1 dollar per drink on the beach or pool and 8-10% tip in the restaurants. They already get 10% which is included in your key to paradise. I would suggest, if your only going for 5 nights, is to skip the tour and just stay on the property and relax, chill out and enjoy a beautiful and fabulous ritz carlton property. But beware, i gained 5 pounds so dont forget to walk off all those meals

How would you describe the beach? Is there a pool with a swim-up bar? Could you tell me how late the restaurants are open? Thanks!

the beach is ok, the swimming area is small with quite a few rocks (bring water shoes, they work great). they have a beach club 5 minutes away by shuttle which is very quite, a nice beach and better swimming area (sandy and clean) but your all inclusive doesnt work there. there is no swimup bar but the waitress's come to you in the pool to bring you your drinks, cold towels, and fresh fruit every day. I believe the restaurants last reservations are 10pm, at least 9pm but i think later.
