Provo restaurants

Hi everyone. Well my trip to T&C is next month already! I have been doing a lot of research...Tripadvisor forums are great and very targeted to a particular destination. Anyway, I have come up with a list of restuarants I want to try and see what you all think of my choices based on your experience. Keep in mind that we are traveling with a 1 year old so all of the restaurants have to be kid friendly.

Dinners:

Coco Bistro
Bay Bistro
Hemingways
Mango Reef
Tiki Hut
Magnolias **

I understand Magnolias is more upscale but it would be fine to bring the baby.

As for lunches...I want to try:

Bugaloos (formelrly da conch shack)
Shark Bite
Hole in the Wall
Hey Joses

I assume we'll eat a number of lunches on our balcony.

Finally, where would you all receommend for breakfast? Again, we'll likely eat in our condo most of the time but it would be nice to go out once or twice.

Gilley's?
Barefoot Cafe?

Thanks everyone!

Haven't been to T&C yet, but I've been told Da Conch Shack, is great and would fit your description.
If you decide to get a babysitter one night, the restaurant at Grace Bay Club is supposed to be really romantic.
Have a wonderful time. When you get back, please do a post or trip report on the kid friendliness of the island. I'd like to know if it would be suitable for a 3 year old.

Got back recently from spending 2 monthes there!

One trick with baby. At a more upscale restaurant like Magnolia's, have reservations at 6 when they open, most couples don't fill up until around 7. Everybody wins!

Breakfast definately at Saltmills Cafe in Saltmills Plaza. Best breakfast (and reasonably priced) on the island.

Lunches, try Top of Cove Deli, and the little deli next to IGA supermarket. My favorite lunch is actually at Ocean Club East by the beach.

Dinners:
I'm not crazy about CocoBistro. The owners always seem rude, or special. They have just recently sold, so we'll see if that changes anything/everything. Food was good, but who needs meaness?

Bay Bistro for dinner is awesome. Hemmingways is always great on Thursday nights, when Quintin Dean plays his tunes. My all around favorite.
Tiki Hut, if you go for ribs night, go early! By 6:45 there is a line waiting to be seated. Great place with kids.
Magnolia's is always great. Coyoba's is incredible, and incredibly expensive! Mango Reef is good for the money.

Sunday Brunch at Bay Bistro is cool too.

We just returned from TCI last week from our first visit. I posted a, well...lenghty trip report with photos on this site.

For Dinner we liked
Coco Bistro [so much we went twice]
Baci [will absolutely be back]
Hemmingways
Shark Bite Wed night fish and chips night

For Lunch
Hemmingways
Aqua [We loved their hydroponic salad lunch]
Shark Bites

Breakfast
I'd skip Gilleys unless you have a whole lot of time to sit and wait for breakfast...EVERY person in the place was complaining the day we were there of slow service, and cold food.

Do eat at Salt Mills Cafe for breakfast, and yummy smoothies.

I wish we had gotten the opportunity to try the Tiki Hut, and Gecko Grill, but we will have to give them a go next year.

I just love to go to Bay Bistro for breakfast the decor has lots of bright colors for the baby to look at also. Its just such a relaxing place to go and look out onto Grace Bay, while eating. Maybe we will see you there for the Brunch, 4/23 you will be there right?
Hemingways, and I hear that the Alexandra Resort- Orchid Bar and Grill also has a great breakfast, and fairly reasonable.
Maybe we will bump into each other, and if you need a sitter for a couple hours to try a fancy restaurant, maybe we can set something up. My five year old would love to chase a baby around.
Hope you have a great time.

Mango Reef is nothing special. Magnolia's is great, as is the restaurant at the Grace Bay Club, and we really liked Baci for basic Italian.

Hi Turks old Timer! yes, we will be in provo from April 20 - 26th. I will definitely check out bay Bistro foe breakfast. My favorite part of the day when we were in Anguilla was eating breakfast on the reaturant terrace of our hotel overlooking the beach and water.

We should try to meet up for a drink one evening...

Yes ... stop by the Alexandra when your in the area. Most all the waitresses will tell if we are around. My five year old girl is a fish so she is in the pool or at the beach most of the time.I also have a ten year old son
Hope to see you there

We loved the Iquana. They made the best mojito. We ate there twice and the food was great.

Chinsons was good for chinese and they have a nice gourmet store in the front.

There's a little indian joint on the main highway, West Indian Roti Shop, very good too and cheap! (I love roti's and have them wherever I go).

Peace, Greenie
