Finally going to T&C- restaurant help please!

We booked our flight and hotel (Regent Palms) last night. I'm so excited. I just have a feeling that I will love T&C, much like i fell in love with Anguilla.

DH is a little skeptical, since we heard more about Anguilla from friends that about T&C, but I think he will be pleasantly surprised.

Where should we eat. We like to go out to dinner. It's our "thing." Looking for upper end places for dinner where we can feel pampered and eat wonderful meals. For lunch, anything goes, but good food please. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

PS- we won't have a car. TIA!

I will be watching for your answers as I sort of asked the same thing(We're on our way, Turks & Caicos) on 1/14/09.

You'll find some answers on that post, but I'm hoping the Fodorites come up with more.

So far, my favorite was "Coyoba" and my husband,s was "Coco Palms".

You really need a car for the great ones:

Coyaba and Coco Bistro.

With no car, O'Soleil. Bay Bistro is a little more casual yet good. If there on a full moon, Bay Bistro has a pig roast bonfire (including S'mores!) on the beach.

Regent Palms has a dark spot if you're walking at night, I do not recommend it. It is a safe island, but with bad economies comes the chance of robbery-so I highly recommend a car, unless you're just walking next door to O'Soleil.

Maybe it's just me, but I've never had a more than just an average experience at Parallel 23 (at Palms) Their lunch Plunge is really good though.

Yoshi's Japanese is excellent. Mango Reef is a good value.

I just returned last night:
My do not misses:

Thurday at Da Conch Shack. Daniel and Nadine sing 7-10. They are awesome, incredible, etc. you will follow them like a groupies, what an ambience.

Friday night at O'Soleil. Again Daniel and Nadine sing 7-10-plus you can eat different excellent tapas for dinner. It is on the patio side, not the restaurant side. you can start an ealier dinner in the dinning room-from 6-7 you order one entree get one free. the have the best SeaBass and resotto on the island.

Sunday night, again Daniel and Nadine at Tiki Hut. For a break on the wallet, Tiki Hut Wed night $13 ribs are popular.

I cannot stress how awesome Daniel and Nadine are. We met with tourists that started following them around the rest of the week. Crowd pleasure for all generations.

Tuesday night I would head to Coco Bistro, gorgeous setting, great food.

Thursday night I would also consider Hemingways at The Sands. Great setting, awesome food, casual, Quinten Dean plays music at 7, great ambience.

I would start one night with drinks at Anocoana-awesome setting. then I would go over to Coyaba for dinner, where the chocolate fondant is out of this world! Anocoana has great food, but the portions are so tiny that you leave hungry, and it's ultra expensive. Coyaba is high end amazing.

It's always fun to start a breakfast at Bay Bistro, what a setting. Great for lunch too, as is LunaSea at Somerset and Plunge at Palms. the new restaurant at West Bay Club, Atlantic Bar & Grill, is nice for lunch too. I wasn't "wowed" there for dinner though. It was pleasant, not great.

Magnolia's has the best sunset, overlooking Turtle Cove. The ambience is nice. The food is good, the appt are great. I actually perfer to make a meal of different appts there instead of entrees. The Spring rolls are excellent, as is there veggie caprese.

For the best breakfast on the beach-the new Somewhere....On The Beach at Coral Gardens is excellent. TexMex, if your lucky, the owner with cook. Terrific setting to start your day, and excellent breakfast buritos and huevos rancheros. New place, so for now cash only-really yummy.

Check out www.whereWhenHow.tc for menu and hours and if they are closed certain nights.

blamona---you talked about walking to dinner. Last year we stayed at "Ocean Club West" and walked to Coyaba, Coco Palms, the Grill at the Grace Bay Club, etc. We never felt threatened. Do you think we can walk to those places this year? It was one of the reasons we stayed in the same place, convenience.

emcash, yes you can get a taxi to the farther places. Just ask your concierge at the Palms. I also liked Coco Bistro for its wonderful food and unique setting. I'm sure that's also the restaurant TPAYT meant instead of "Coco Palms".

TPAYT: you probably fine.
If you re read my post, I refered to a stretch in front of Palms, where emcash is staying.

Emcash is probably safe too-but should use caution at night, it was just a general warning, nothing specific.

Blamona and others- I think we have decided on Anacona, o'soleil, coco bistro and coyaba for our dinners-- we are there 4 nights. Is o'soleil the only one we can walk to without saftey issues? If so, how far of a taxi ride are the others.

I know Anacona's portions are small, but it looks like the perfect place for a special night out. O'soleil on a friday night for the music, Anacona for music and dinner on saturday. Figure we will eat Parallel 23 and plunge while staying at the RP.
