Our Lucaya - Poor Experience

Cluing in - thanks for defending me. To address those "glaring holes" ...I am indeed a teacher in a well- paid school district, but even then I'm by no means wealthy. I'm also happily married but my husband wanted to spend spring break in Utah skiing and I was ready for the sunshine of the Bahamas with the girls. A trip to St. Barth's doesn't have to break the bank, we went on a budget of about $4,500 (off season). When you travel as much as my husband and I do, you know ways of getting the most for your travel buck. It is too bad fodorites are always assuming someone is lying on their postings - I just wanted to give people a "heads up" on the resort. I use people's opinions and trip reports to plan our vacations and just wanted to reciprocate. Maureen, in response to your "I want your life!" comment, if it was sincere, become a teacher, drive a 7 year old VW, buy a house you can afford, charge everything on a credit card that gives travel points (but pay off your balance each month) and don't have kids!

To Khostler and all: I am sorry for being skeptical. I should have unconditionally accepted all of the somewhat fantastic account of your vacation. Maybe I should have overlooked the inconsistencies in your story. And above all, I should have in no way ever thought that there might be "an other side" to this story.
